Lichfield Arts: News

Wow the last few months have gone quickly! It doesn’t seem like 5 minutes since I started as director back in July and now it’s nearly Christmas! Our brand new Oktoberfest got things off to a great start (albeit with a few lessons learned for next time like more German beer and food) and then we saw the final Guildhall appearance by The Hamsters, quickly followed by the Roots & Folk Festival, with memorable performances from the likes of Derrin Nauendorf, 3 Daft Monkeys and our own Wildfire Folk. More recently we have had some more fantastic concerts from the likes of Bruce Molsky and Matt Schofield, and well as from burgeoning local talents such as Tom Woodman not to mention the wonderful array of young talent that was on display at the recent Fuse Revisited.

Looking ahead to the new winter/spring 2012 programme we have a fantastic and more varied line up than ever before highlights - check out the What's On Page or download a copy of our new brochure!

On another note, the dates for next year's Real Ale Jazz & Blues (7-10 June 2012) and FUSE festivals (6-8 July 2012) have now been finalised, and we have had to take the very difficult decision to move RAJB to an earlier weekend than normal. This is due in part to clashes with other events around the same time, but more importantly to ease the burden on our dedicated team of volunteers without whom none of our events would be possible. For those of you who are regulars to the event and who have traditionally attended on the same date every year, please accept our apologies but we sincerely hope you will still be able to attend this wonderful event.
